Robert Ballard
Marine Explorer and Professor, Institute for Exploration and University of Rhode Island
Ballard has a Ph.D. from the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography, where he currently is a professor and the Director of the Institute for Archaeological Oceanography. He also is President of the Institute for Exploration at Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration in Mystic, Connecticut and is best known for his 1985 discovery of the R.M.S. TITANIC. During his long career, he has conducted more than 100 deep-sea expeditions using the latest in exploration technology.
