Roger Martin Podcast: The Design of Business

In this podcast (recorded February 23, 2010), Roger Martin talks about his latest book The Design of Business: Why Design Thinking is the Next Competitive Advantage. Roger is the Dean of the Rotman School at the University of Toronto and a Business Innovation Factory research advisor. He’s also a leading proponent of design thinking at business schools and was recently named to Business Week’s list of The Most Influential Designers in the World.

Speaking with BIF's Chris Flanagan, Roger talks about how he came to create his knowledge funnel process for design-based innovation. He also digs into one of our favorite chapters in the book - Transforming the Corporation - which outlines the 5-year re-design of Procter & Gamble's corporate culture. Finally, Chris and Roger spend a good chunk of time talking about a subject that Roger has written extensively about on his HBR blog: Public markets and the gross inadequacies of American capitalism. He's got some strong opinions on this subject. We'd love to hear your thoughts. Just add them in the comments section below.
